Prosecutor: Four in conspiracy to kill teen prostitute knew what they were doing

Four people accused in a conspiracy to kill a teenage prostitute to prevent her from testifying in a pandering case all were fully aware that they were helping to arrange the aborted murder-for-hire, a prosecutor told a jury Wednesday.

Deputy District Attorney Brandon Smith told the five-man, seven-woman panel that defendant Michael Durrell Ward was the mastermind behind the 2005 plot that also allegedly involved his mother and two other co-defendants.
